A number of backups saw the field in the Chiefs' 27-24 loss to the Chargers on Sunday, but here's what coach Andy Reid had to say recently when asked about running back Knile Davis and receiver A.J. Jenkins, in particular.

Davis ran 27 times for 81 yards and two touchdowns, all of which were season highs. He also had two catches for five yards.
Knile (Davis) played a good, solid football game, both running the football and protection, and I think he had one return in the kicking game, Reid said. I thought he did a nice job. You can see how much he has improved over the year, which is pretty remarkable.
Jenkins, a first-round pick of the 49ers in 2012, had three catches for 67 yards, including an impressive 48-yarder on the Chiefs' opening drive.
The Chiefs acquired him for Jon Baldwin in August.
A.J. (Jenkins) is another one of those guys that weve kind of eased in, Reid said. I thought he played a heck of a game (Sunday). He blocked well, he caught the ball well, ran good, solid routes, and you saw his athletic ability (with the) run after the catch.
