After ending a 20-day platonic dating relationship, a teenage girl endured a nightmarish onslaught of harassment and stalking that included her email account being hacked and seeing nude photographs of her posted online, federal prosecutors said Monday.

On Monday, a 25-year-old Lee’s Summit man pleaded guilty in federal court to a count of cyberstalking the victim, who prosecutors say endured more than three years of harassment after her brief relationship with the man in 2007.

August W. Jentsch also pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography for nude images of another teenager authorities discovered on his computer while searching it as part of the stalking investigation.

Jentsch faces a sentence of five to 10 years in prison, according to Monday’s plea agreement in U.S. District Court in Kansas City. He was taken into custody after Monday’s plea hearing. A sentencing date has not been set.

The young woman told investigators that Jentsch began harassing her in January 2008 by showing up at her home and workplace, texting and emailing her and leaving her gifts, according to accusations detailed in a written plea agreement.

After she moved to another state to attend college in 2011, Jentsch hacked into and took over her email and Facebook accounts by changing the passwords, according to the plea agreement.

Nude photos and videos she had taken when she was 16 were obtained from her email and posted on Facebook profiles that Jentsch set up in her name, according to the allegations. The pictures also were emailed to people in her contacts list, and her friends and family were sent invitations to view the fictitious Facebook pages.

Jentsch also took the victim’s photos and identity to create a profile on an adult-themed website and invited people interested in sex to contact her on Facebook.

After a Lee’s Summit police detective tracked down who had created that profile, investigators obtained a search warrant for Jentsch’s residence. That was when the images involving a 15-year-old girl were discovered, according to the court documents.
