Convicted child molester sentenced in Kansas

Updated: 2013-12-20T19:41:02Z

A 44-year-old Illinois man was sentenced in Leavenworth County Friday to 20 years and six months in prison on child molestation charges.

Thomas Bradshaw, who had just moved to Leavenworth for a construction job, pleaded guilty in October to rape, taking aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated indecent solicitation of a child.

In August, Bradshaw lured an 11-year-old into a secluded room at a home and attempted to have sex with the child, a prosecutor said Friday. A relative then walked into the room and Bradshaw fled.
