A 21-year-old Lee’s Summit man has been charged with the Monday afternoon robbery of a Shawnee bank.

Scott M. Thario allegedly used a sawed-off shotgun to hold up the Intrust Bank at 19501 W. 65th Terrace, according to the indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Kansas City, Kan.

He was arrested in a wooded area near the bank about 90 minutes after the robbery. No one was hurt during the robbery.

Thario was charged in the indictment returned Wednesday with bank robbery and with using a dangerous weapon during a crime of violence, according to records in U.S. District Court.
