Here’s another junior-college addition for Kansas football coach Charlie Weis.

Northeastern Oklahoma A&M defensive back Ronnie Davis has given an oral commitment to KU, according to Rivals.com. Davis had previously committed to Utah State but changed his mind late in the recruiting process.

Davis, a three-star prospect, can play safety or cornerback and is eligible to sign Wednesday. He’s expected to be a midyear transfer and participate in spring football.

Two KU hoops signees on Naismith list

Last season, Andrew Wiggins became the first Kansas basketball signee to be selected the Naismith High School Player of the Year since the award began in 1987.

This year, the Jayhawks have two more top candidates for the award. Kansas signees Cliff Alexander and Kelly Oubre were two of 10 names on the Naismith Trophy Early-Season Watch List, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Monday.

Alexander, a 6-foot-8 forward at Curie High School in Chicago, has led his team to a 4-0 record, beginning the season with a 22-point, 20-rebound performance against Las Vegas Bishop Gorman. Oubre, meanwhile, is averaging 24.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.8 steals for Findley Prep in Henderson, Nev.
