Two new fast food concepts — Teriyaki Grill and Fenway’s Steakburgers — plan to open in the food court at Independence Center in mid-January.

Teriyaki Grill will offer Japanese cuisine and Fenway’s will specialize in steakburgers. The Teriyaki Grill/Fenway’s Steakburgers partnership, which is based in Independence, also hopes to open the concepts in other Simon Malls across the country.

A partner in the combo operations, Jayshree “Jay” Mehta, also owns the Dairy Queen in the Independence Center food court.

Independence Center is at Interstate 70 and Missouri 291 in Independence.
