An Independence tow operator has been indicted for allegedly hiding more than $1.2 million from federal tax collectors.

Prosecutors said the federal grand jury indicted Peggy Hennon, 55, on Tuesday, accusing her of not reporting $1,232,363 in business income on her 2007, 2008 and 2009 tax returns.

Hennon, the owner of Peggy’s Tow, did that to avoid more than $308,000 in taxes, prosecutors alleged.
