Chiefs outside linebacker Tamba Hali has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Hali, 30, recorded five tackles and two sacks in the Chiefs' 45-10 win over Washington on Sunday. He now has 11 sacks, only 3 1/2 short of his career-high of 14 1/2, which he set in 2010.

Prior to Sunday, Hali ― who has been plagued by a sprained ankle in recent weeks ― had gone five games without a sack.

When asked Sunday if he finally feels 100 percent, Hali just shook his head and chuckled.

“It still hurts,” Hali said.
