Oh it’s on! The trailer for the new “Godzilla” movie promises a huge ride when the movie debuts on May 16, 2014.

Godzilla fans spent the last few days counting down the trailer’s release this afternoon from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures.

The movie stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson (“The Illusionist”), Elizabeth Olsen (“Martha Marcy May Marlene”), Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad”) Juliette Binoche (“Chocolat”), David Strathairn (“Good Night, and Good Luck”) and Ken Watanabe (“Batman Begins”).

MTV issued its own wish list of things it hopes to see in director Gareth Edwards’ vision of the classic monster. Among their hopes: Make Godzilla destroy some stuff.

Judging from the trailer, he does a lot of that.

Can’t wait.
