MLS Q and A

Amid the hustle and bustle of Friday’s World Cup draw event in the Members Club at Sporting Park, we caught up with a couple of MLS players and asked them two simple questions: Who’s gonna win Saturday, and how do you like the soccer scene in KC?

Q: What is your prediction for the final between Sporting KC and Real Salt Lake?

Brad Evans, Seattle Sounders midfielder: “I think Salt Lake 2-1.”

Omar Gonzalez, Los Angeles Galaxy defender: “I think it is going be a tough matchup, but with Kansas City being at home, I think I am going to go with Kansas City.”

Q: What do you think of the Sporting Kansas City atmosphere?

Evans: “It was a simple effort of a couple guys coming in and making it a first-rate organization. Now, Kansas City is a destination where players want to play, because you look at the crowd. I’ve played here a couple of times with the Sounders and the national team, and it’s always rocking and it’s crazy. It’s a special place.”

Gonzalez: “I got the chance to play at the stadium before this, and let me tell you, it was a lot different. To see this amazing stadium built here and all the fans who have gotten behind it and to hear that every game is selling out, everyone is having a good time and they want more seats to be opened up is amazing. I always like coming to Kansas City now.”
