Main Street Bridge over I-670 reopens Friday

Updated: 2013-12-05T22:19:44Z

Construction on the new Main Street Bridge over Interstate 670 downtown is finished, and the intersection of Main and Truman Road will reopen before Friday evening’s rush hour.

Kansas City spent $2.75 million replacing the bridge crossing with a new three-lane concrete bridge to improve vertical clearance, address future traffic needs and accommodate the planned streetcar project.

Sidewalks and lighting were also improved. Decorative fencing will be installed by the end of the year.
