An involuntary manslaughter charge has been filed against a 14-year-old boy who was allegedly driving a stolen car that wrecked in Kansas City, Kan., killing a 14-year-old girl.

Jummon Rahaman is also charged in the juvenile division of Wyandotte County District Court with aggravated battery in the Oct. 7 crash that killed Casey Knight and critically injured another teenage girl.

Rahaman was charged with felony theft after the crash and has been in custody since then. His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 8.

The girls were passengers in a car that Rahaman allegedly was driving when it wrecked in the 1200 block of Dodson Street. Authorities said the car had been reported stolen in De Soto.

James Brun, an attorney representing Rahaman, said Thursday that his client denies the allegations against him. Prosecutors have not decided if they will seek to have Rahaman tried as an adult.
