A jury found a McLouth, Kan., man guilty of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer for trying to run down a Kansas state trooper.

Kevin Reed, 33, led officers on a manhunt during the May 22 incident in Leavenworth County.

According to the Leavenworth County prosecutor, the trooper attempted to make a traffic stop when the female driver of the vehicle drove away. The trooper located the vehicle behind a barn with Reed at the wheel. When the trooper ordered him at gunpoint to get out of the car, Reed drove straight toward him. The trooper fired four shots, deflating one tire.

Reed drove off with other troopers in pursuit. Upon reaching a dead end, Reed fled on foot and was later found hiding in the loft of the barn.

Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 18.
