— Kansas State athletic director John Currie said Monday during an interview with KMAN radio that Texas-El Paso will round out the Wildcats’ 2014 football schedule.

UTEP replaces Texas-San Antonio, which bought its way out of a previously scheduled game at Bill Snyder Family Stadium, as K-State’s third nonconference opponent next season.

The Wildcats’ other nonconference foes are Stephen F. Austin and Auburn. K-State has not officially announced its 2014 schedule, but it is expected to in the coming weeks. A date for all three nonconference games will be finalized during that time. Currie also told KMAN that K-State is considering playing Auburn on a Thursday. K-State already has another Thursday game scheduled, at West Virginia on Nov. 20.
