Three people were taken to area hospitals after two separate rollover accidents in Wyandotte County.

Officers were called to the site of an accident at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the eastbound lane of Interstate 670 about half mile west of State Line Road, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.

The patrol’s report said Crystal A. Stevens, 25, of Excelsior Springs, was driving a 2009 Toyota Camry when it swerved and struck the highway's inside barrier wall, rolling the car.

Stevens was taken to Truman Medical Center while her passenger, 6-year-old Kaliah G. Brown, was taken to Children's Mercy Hospital. Injuries were not specified on the report. Both were wearing seat belts.

Less than an hour later, the patrol responded to another rollover accident in the southbound lane of Interstate 635 about a fifth of a mile south of Interstate 70. Tracy A. Lown, 49, of Overland Park was driving south in a 2000 Toyota 4Runner when she came upon a vehicle stopped in the far left-hand lane of the highway. The patrol’s report said that after a swerve to avoid the stopped vehicle, the Toyota went out of control and rolled. A passenger, Violet Lown, 86, of Pueblo, Col., was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital with unspecified injuries.
