The Kansas Attorney Generals Office identified the victims as Cami Umbarger, 29, and her three minor children.
The suspect was identified as David Cornell Bennett, Jr., of Cherryvale.
The Parsons Police Department, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and other law enforcement agencies are investigating. Authorities are not saying how the victims died.
Parsons police told the Parsons Sun that they received a call from concerned co-workers who said they were worried because a 29-year-old woman failed to show up for work on Monday. Police said the womans children, an 8-year-old girl, a 5-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, also were missing.
Parsons is approximately 125 miles southeast of Wichita in Labette County.
