Sleet and snow forecast for early Friday may deliver this seasons first slick highways.
While little accumulation is expected, the Missouri Department of Transportation is cautioning drivers to expect bridges, overpasses and hills to be ice-covered and slick.
Rain is expected to continue as throughout Thursday afternoon and evening, but a high-wind-driven cold front sweeping in overnight will drop pavement temperatures quickly and cause black ice conditions. MoDOT crews will be out by 11 p.m. to treat highways.
Forecasters call for a cold, windy and sunny weekend, with highs in the low 30s and lows in the teens. Temps then return to the mid-40s on Monday and Tuesday.
