Missouri needs one more victory to clinch its first Southeastern Conference volleyball championship after improving to 31-0 with a sweep Sunday at South Carolina.

The Tigers, ranked seventh in the volleyball coaches poll, extended their school-record winning streak to start the season and are 15-0 in the SEC after the 25-13, 25-13, 25-16 win in Columbia, S.C.

Nine Missouri players had at least one kill in the match, led by Blue Springs’ Lisa Henning with seven and freshman Carly Kan with six. Molly Kreklow finished with 33 assists and eight digs.

Missouri was coming off a win at Florida on Friday night, the Tigers’ first against a top-five team on the road in program history. They next play Friday at home against Mississippi State.

“A lot of times, teams can be sluggish or lose focus after a win like that but I thought we did a good job of coming out and setting the tone early,” MU coach Wayne Kreklow said. “We now have a chance to do something pretty special Friday against Mississippi State, so I hope we can get a huge crowd at the Hearnes Center.”
