On the way: Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings

Updated: 2013-11-11T18:55:46Z

After two years off the road and several months of cancer treatment, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings are preparing for long North American tour starting in February. Among the three-dozen stops: a show at Liberty Hall in Lawrence on March 8, a Saturday. Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. Friday. Prices: $21 and $26.

In January, Jones and her band will release “Give the People What They Want,” their sixth studio album. It was scheduled to be released in August, but the release was postponed after Jones, 57, announced in June that she would need treatment for bile-duct cancer. In October, she announced that surgery and treatment were successful and she would return to the stage in 2014. | Timothy Finn, The Star
