Former Aquinas guard DaShawn Harden wins honors after LSU debut

DaShawn Harden, a former Kansas City Star All-Metro girls basketball player of the year, scored 20 and 19 points in her first two games for LSU, winning Southeastern Conference women’s basketball player of the week honors.

Harden, a St. Thomas Aquinas grad from Olathe, originally attended Oklahoma before transferring to Johnson County Community College, where she was a NJCAA Division II All-American last season.

In her first two games for LSU, Harden, a 5-foot-9 guard, combined for 39 points, seven three-pointers and seven steals as the Tigers won both games.
