Video: KU’s Andrew White III, Frank Mason talk Jayhawks’ defensive growth

— Before No. 5 Kansas’ regular-season opener against Louisiana Monroe on Friday night, the Jayhawks are trying to get in tune on the defensive end.

Kansas sophomore guard Andrew White III and freshman point guard Frank Mason both talked to reporters on Thursday afternoon.

Kansas allowed Fort Hays State to shoot 49 percent from the floor in a 92-75 victory on Tuesday night. And with a battle with No. 4 Duke looming on Tuesday night in the Champions Classic in Chicago, White said there are a few things on which Kansas can improve:

Freshman point guard Frank Mason, who will make his first career regular-season start on Friday, also discussed KU’s defensive progress.
