911 service is out for landlines in Kearney

Clay County authorities are instructing Kearney residents to call 911 from their cellphones for emergencies.

Landline telephone service is expected to return about 10 p.m. while crews work to repair the outage. Authorities have not determined what caused the outage, said Lt. Will Akin, with the Clay County Sheriff’s office.
