The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said Thursday that Swope Health Services will be among recipients of new health care grants under the Affordable Care Act.

Swope Health will receive $920,833 to help expand its health center services. It is one of 236 health center programs nationally that are getting about $150 million in grants designed to serve more than 1.25 million more patients.

Eight other hospitals or health centers in Missouri and one in Kansas also received funding to expand community services, according to the new announcement.
