The Chiefs activated defensive back Sanders Commings from injured reserve Tuesday and waived safety Bradley McDougald.

Commings, the Chiefs’ fifth-round pick from Georgia in this year’s NFL Draft, spent the first nine weeks on injured reserve with the designation to return.

McDougald, an undrafted free agent who played at Kansas, appeared in one game, playing on special teams in the Chiefs’ victory over the Raiders. He was active for one other game but didn’t play. He spent three weeks on the team’s practice squad.
