A second person has been charged in the fatal shooting of Erik S. Schwartz, Jackson County authorities said Saturday.

Prosecutors have charged Charles T. Carr III of Kansas City with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Chad D. Terry Jr., 19, also faces the same charges.

At the time of the shooting, the two defendants were allegedly attempting to rob Schwartz, 33, of Raytown, who had fallen asleep in his Jeep Grand Cherokee while parked in front of a residence in the 400 block of North Grand Avenue.
