Moss Point (Miss.) senior shooting guard Devin Booker announced Thursday that he would play basketball at Kentucky.

Booker, who is the son of former Missouri star Melvin Booker, had been in Columbia the last two weekends, once for an official visit and again last Friday when his father and the rest of the 1993-94 team was honored during “The Return to Hearnes.”

Booker was Missouri’s top target, a four-star recruit who was ranked as the 18th-best player in the Class of 2014 by ESPN and 30th overall by Rivals.com.

He averaged 29.7 points as a junior and was the Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year last season.

Booker also took official visits to Michigan and Michigan State. He grew up in Grand Rapids, Mich., living with his mother before moving in with his father in Mississippi prior to his sophomore year in high school.
