KMBC news anchor Larry Moore is going to emeritus status

Longtime Channel 9 news anchor Larry Moore announced Wednesday that he will move into emeritus status at the station on Nov. 27.

The station said Moore will continue to be a member of the KMBC news team and will continue to share stories from the Dream Factory, which helps seriously ill children realize their dreams.

Moore has been a reporter and anchor at Channel 9 for 40 years. In his announcement, Moore said he is in good health but wants to spend more time with his grandson.
