The NFL trade deadline is 3 p.m. Tuesday, and Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he didnt envision the club making any deals for the second half of the season.

Theres been speculation about the availability of former Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez, who is playing his final season with the Atlanta Falcons, now 2-5; or a wide receiver such as the New York Giants Hakeem Nicks or Clevelands Josh Gordon.
Reid said on Monday afternoon that he and general manager John Dorsey had yet to discuss making any moves, and he likes the makeup of his team going into the second half of the season.
We have good players, Reid said. Do we need to keep getting better? Absolutely.
One consideration in making a trade is how it affects the locker room chemistry of an unbeaten team.
You look at everything, Reid said. Thats something John goes through and evaluates. Thats one of the categories he looks at.
Defer the choice?
The Chiefs won the coin toss in each of the last three games and elected to receive. Of those first three possessions, they drove for one field goal and punted twice.
Two weeks ago, against Houston, a three-and-out by the Chiefs allowed Houston to take over at its 44 and turned that field position into a field goal. Has Reid ever deferred his choice to the second half.
I have in the past, said Reid, who calls the offensive plays. I cant tell you that I dont like taking the football. If theyre going to give it to us, well take it. Im all right with that.
Demps taking risks
Chiefs kickoff returner Quintin Demps took some chances on Sunday against Cleveland, bringing out some kickoffs from deep in his end zone, including one from nine yards deep.
But that was OK with Reid.
There re are certain times you have to down it, Reid said. But at other times were pretty confident in what were doing and were confident in him. Theres a time and a place you have to down it.
Touchbacks have been the norm since the NFL moved kickoffs from the 30 to the 35-yard line, but in Sunday nights game, Minnesotas Cordarrelle Patterson broke an NFL record with a 109-yard return.
You see more teams taking the ball out over the last couple of years from deep in the end zone, Reid said.
Reid said there was no change in the injury report from Sunday. Running back Jamaal Charles has a knee contusion, but he returned to the game against Cleveland. Rookie defensive end Mike Catapano has an ankle sprain that will likely sideline him until at least after the bye week.
