Award winners

• Missouri senior setter Molly Kreklow is the American Volleyball Coaches Association national player of the week for the the second time in her career. Kreklow led the Tigers, 23-0 and 7-0 in the Southeastern Conference, to their first win over a top-five program last week as MU beat No. 2 Florida in four sets. The Tigers play at LSU and Texas A&M this weekend.

• Central Missouri’s Jessica Grindstaff is the goalkeeper of the week in the Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association after posting three wins last week, including one shutout and just two goals allowed in 275 minutes, 13 seconds. Grindstaff, from Lee’s Summit, played in high school at Notre Dame de Sion.

Grindstaff’s teammate Kristin Bright was the MIAA defender of the week and Washburn’s Caysie Beetley was the offensive player of the week.


• The Avila women’s soccer team, 15-0-1, moved up one spot to No. 18 in the latest NAIA top 25, the Eagles’ highest ranking ever.

• MidAmerica Nazarene, 20-1, is ranked sixth and Park, 26-3, is ranked 14th in the latest NAIA volleyball poll. The Pirates dropped four spots after a four-set loss to No. 19 Grand View last week but beat MidAmerica in five sets at home Tuesday night.
