The mayor of Newark beat Republican Steve Lonegan. The seat for years had been held by Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg. But Lautenberg died in June.
Booker, 44, is only the second African American in the Senate, joining Sen. Tim Scott, a South Carolina Republican. Booker is a Rhodes scholar and Yale Law School graduate.
Hes already being touted by some as a possible running mate for Hillary Clinton if she enters 2016 presidential race. Booker is young, good-looking, charismatic and knows how to use social media to his political advantage.
Its worth considering. Stay tuned.
