Fashion retailer Cato to open Lee’s Summit store

Cato is coming to Lee’s Summit.

The specialty retailer of value-priced women’s fashion apparel, jewelry, shoes and accessories, plans an Oct. 31 opening in Summit Fair, 840-J N.W. Blue Parkway. A substantial portion of the inventory is sold under Cato’s own private labels and produced by various vendors according to Cato’s specifications.

The company, which was founded in 1946, is based in Charlotte, N.C. It has more than 1,200 stores in 32 states under several concepts — Cato, Versona, It’s Fashion and It’s Fashion Metro.
