Raytown detectives are attemping to find a jogger or anyone else who saw a confrontation that led to a police shooting Friday morning.
At about 8 a.m. that day, officers received a report about an armed robbery of a fast-food restaurant in the 9900 block of East Missouri 350. An officer soon found a man who matched the robber’s description in the 10500 block of East 79th Street.
The officer attempted to stop the suspect and then shot him after the man produced a gun.
A woman was reported to have been jogging on East 79th Street at the time and may have seen the shooting, police said Wednesday. Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to call the Raytown Police at 816-737-6020 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477).
Authorities said Wednesday the suspect is in a hospital and his condition is stable. Raytown detectives are continuing to investigate the incident and will be pursuing charges.
