Overland Park lawyer disbarred

Updated: 2013-10-11T16:32:05Z

An Overland Park lawyer was disbarred Friday by the Kansas Supreme Court.

The court found that Michael Clay Schnittker committed professional misconduct in the handling of client’s fees.

According to the disbarment order, Schnittker “systematically stole” more than $150,000 that belonged to his law firm over a three-year period.

He only stopped after his law partner discovered discrepancies in the firm’s financial records, according to the order.
