Updated: 2013-10-11T16:01:56Z

A Raytown police officer shot an apparent armed robbery suspect Friday morning.

At 8 a.m., officers responded to an armed robbery report from a fast-food restaurant in the 9900 block of East Missouri 350. Not long after that, an officer located a man matching the robber’s description in the 10500 block of East 79th Street.

The officer attempted to stop the man and then shot him after the suspect produced a gun.

Officers were investigating at both locations Friday morning. The condition of the suspect, who was taken to a hospital, wasn’t known Friday morning.
