Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson is optimistic Eric Fisher, Donnie Avery and Jamaal Charles will all play against the Raiders on Sunday.

Pederson said Charles, who sat out Wednesday’s practice, won’t let his blister-ridden toes hold him back come gametime. He played through the same condition in the Chiefs’ 26-17 win over the Titans on Sunday.
“Jamaal’s the guy, he’s gonna go,” Pederson said. “He’s a tough kid. Will we spell him from time-to-time with Cyrus (Gray) and Knile (Davis)? Yeah, we’ll do that and give him a blow. We did it last week and we’ll continue to do that ... we’ll just monitor his progress throughout the game.
“Jamaal’s very explosive, we need him on the football field. He understands that.”
Pederson said Fisher, who sat out the Titans game due to a concussion, looked good in his return to practice on Wednesday.
“He came back yesterday and had a nice practice,” Pederson said. “I’m sure there was a little rust with him and just getting back out there in the flow of the practice and taking live reps. But he’ll be in a position to be successful on Sunday.”
Pederson also said Avery, who missed part of Sunday’s win over the Titans with an injured shoulder and was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice, is “kind of day-to-day,” though he “fully” expects him to be ready Sunday.
Second-year receiver A.J. Jenkins, who was acquired shortly before the season, earned a career-high 29 snaps against the Titans, with most coming after Avery got hurt. He said Jenkins continues to work on improving his knowledge of the playbook.
“Keeping him in one position helps,” Pederson said. “He can study just that ‘X’ or split end position. He did a nice job in the game Sunday filling in for Donnie. You’ve really got two good young receivers over there that are interchangeable. We’ve got a lot of speed over there and we use that to our advantage.”
