A restaurateur spent nearly a year trying to open Slab-N-Pickle BBQ in the former Leawood post office at 3500 W. 95th St. before neighboring residents nixed that plan.

Now CareSpot, an urgent cafe facility, plans to open in the building on Dec. 9. It will be the fourth area urgent care center for the Nashville, Tenn.-based company. CareSpot will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
