Nineteen senators, all Republicans, voted to keep debating the continuing resolution designed to keep the government open next week.

It wasnt enough. Seventy-nine senators voted to cut off debate, far more than the 60 needed for cloture.
Sens. Claire McCaskill and Roy Blunt of Missouri voted for cloture.
Sens. Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran voted with Sen. Ted Cruz to keep talking.
The bill will now undergo other votes, then head to the House. UPDATE: It passed 54-44.
No one knows what will happen there.
