Missouri picks up verbal commitment from elusive Tampa running back

Score another recruit from for Florida for the Missouri football team, which picked up a verbal commitment Thursday night from Alonso (Tampa, Fla.) running back Ish Witter.

Witter (5-8, 190) also had offers from Indiana and Syracuse along with a host of smaller schools, including Middle Tennessee State, Ohio and Utah State. He also had an offer from Rutgers, according to 247.

But he chose the Tigers and announced the decision via Twitter.

Witter shows a tremendous knack for making defenders miss on his highlight tape and fits into the Marcus Murphy mold as a small and elusive but stout runner.

He has excellent feet and pretty good balance, can make catches out of the backfield and also shows a propensity for running over the occasional defender or de-cleating a defender on downfield blocks. It’s worth taking a few minutes to watch:
