Think bundt cakes went out with bell-bottoms? Well, Nothing Bundt Cakes has been bringing them back in a big way.

The national chain sells a variety of bundt cake flavors, including red velvet, white chocolate raspberry, cinnamon swirl, and pecan praline, in a variety of sizes.
Area franchisee Jim Edwards plans to open the first area location at 13420 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, on Friday. It will be the 80th shop for the Texas-based chain.
A lot of peoples grandmothers made bundt cakes. It is kind of a throwback, nostalgic kind of thing, a warm memory of the past that we are bringing back to life, Edwards said. He hopes to open additional area locations.
The chain was founded when two long-time friends joined forces in 1997 to perfect a bundt cake recipe that would be based on the best ingredients fresh eggs, real butter and cream cheese. They opened their first shop in Las Vegas.
The cakes now come in a variety of sizes including the bite-size bundtini, the single serving size bundtlet, an 8-inch cake serving about 8 people, a 10-inch cake serving about 18, and tiered cakes serving about 26 people.
The cakes also can be decorated with ribbons, birthday hats, flowers, and Nothing Bundt Cake designs for special occasions such as birthdays, Mothers Day, thinking of you and thank you gifts.
