Mortgage firm expands
Midwest Mortgage Capital has open a branch office in Overland Park and named John Thomas as the area manager.
The St. Louis -based firm said the Overland Park office, at 9393 W. 110th St. in Corporate Woods, is one of three new branches it has opened this year. The other locations are in Minneapolis and Indianapolis.
Thomas has about 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry.
Midwest Mortgage said it expects to initially hire 10 employees for the office, and several of those positions have already been filled. “We’re aiming to expanding to about 20 loan officers” by the end of 2014, said Jerry Frost, president of the mortgage firm.
Menorah Medical Center has received a Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City. The designation means the hospital meets nationally established quality-focused criteria.
On-site flu vaccines
CorporateCare, a division of Shawnee Mission Medical Center, is offering an on-site flu vaccine clinic to area businesses. As a covered benefit through a company’s group health insurance plan, CorporateCar said it can offer the vaccine to employees for little or no out-of-pocket costs.
