The Country Club Plaza is about to get sweeter.

South Florida candy retailer It’sugar plans an October opening in a 1,117-square-foot space at 445 W. 47th St.

The shops specialize in candy — lollipops, chocolates, gummy bears, mints and more. They also sell candy-inspired fashion apparel, including themed T-shirts — Hello Kitty, Marilyn Monroe, and Marvel Super Heroes — along with accessories and novelty gifts. Items also include giant candy bars like a one-pound package of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, chocolate chip flavored lip balm, and scented glitter nail polish.

Jeff Rubin founded the company in 2006. There are now about 70 locations, including store-within-a-store operations, in such cities as New York and Miami.
