Missouri trooper, robbery suspect both hurt in shootout

— A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper and a man suspected of robbing a bank are both wounded following a shootout near the St. Charles County town of New Melle.

Neither man is believed to have suffered a life-threatening injury following the shootout on Friday.

The incident began when the First Bank of Dutzow was robbed Friday morning. The suspect drove away on Highway 94.

The trooper stopped the car, and the shootout began. Names of the suspect and the trooper have not been released. The suspect was taken into custody.
