Three people were in custody early Friday after a home invasion and robbery that led to a high-speed police pursuit in Lee’s Summit and south Kansas City.

One person sustained a gunshot wound to the head during the 7:45 a.m. robbery near Blue Ridge Boulevard and Red Bridge Road. The victim’s injuries were life-threatening, said Capt. Tye Grant, police spokesman.

Police pursued a maroon van until it reached Missouri 350 and Bannister Road, where the vehicle crashed into a ditch. Speeds reached as high as 90 mph.

Three persons were taken into custody. One of those persons had suffered a gunshot wound. That person’s condition was not immediately available, Grant said.

No other details were immediately available. Police are continuing their investigation.
