Animal bones found in Riverfront Park

Updated: 2013-09-20T01:38:37Z

Bones discovered along the Missouri River in Kansas City were from an animal, police said Thursday.

The bones were discovered Wednesday in Riverfront Park, but officials were initially unsure of they were from a human or animal.

Earlier this month, a Union Pacific Railroad crew found what apparently are human remains near Dora Street and Lydia Avenue, just west of Interstates 35 and 29 and south of the Missouri River.
