Mimi’s Cafe in Zona Rosa has closed.

In a voicemail message on the restaurant’s answering machine, the company said it made the difficult decision to close the restaurant permanently and blamed a number of external circumstances for that location no longer being in line with the company’s “strategic direction.”

Mimi’s Cafe officials could not be reached for additional comments.

Zona Rosa officials said the restaurant closed without notice Sunday night.

Mimi’s Cafe owns the freestanding building at 8501 N.W. Prairie View Road. However, it would have to get Zona Rosa’s approval for any new tenant that would want to open in the building.
