A new Overland Park Wendy’s will be the first in the metro to debut the chain’s new restaurant design.

The new restaurant with drive-thru is scheduled to open at 10 a.m. Wednesday at 9161 Metcalf Ave. It has a contemporary design with fireplace, television, free Wi-Fi, digital menu board, and a Coca-Cola Freestyle fountain drink dispenser.

The restaurant is operated by NPC Quality Burgers Inc., which recently became a new Wendy’s franchisee by purchasing 35 Wendy’s restaurants in Kansas and Missouri. NPC Quality Burgers is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NPC International Inc., which is one of world’s largest Pizza Hut franchisees and currently operates 1,245 Pizza Hut restaurants in 28 states.
