Kansas City police were investigating two separate weekend shootings that left one person dead and four injured.
Police responded to the area of 53rd Street and Brooklyn Avenue at 2:19 a.m. Sunday after receiving reports of gunshots. They found three people with injuries. The victims were taken to a local hospital, where one later died.
And around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, two persons were injured when shots were fired from a vehicle into a home near 24th Street and Indiana Avenue, police said.
The victims were taken to a hospital, but no details were available on the extent of their injuries.
Police have not released the names of any of the victims, and no arrests have been made in either of the shootings. Police ask anyone with information about the incidents to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477).
