Mississippi handed Texas its second-straight lopsided loss on Saturday. Things are going poorly in Austin, and Longhorns coach Mack Brown is hearing boos at home games.
K-State has beaten Texas five straight times, and enters this Saturdays game on more solid footing. But coach Bill Snyder expects a tough game.
I understand they are going through some difficult times, but dont dare underestimate the University of Texas, Snyder said. They will be a handful for anybody. They have good people.
• Backup running backs Robert Rose and DeMarcus Robinson had memorable plays on Saturday.
Rose scored his first touchdown on a 26-yard scamper in the first half. Robinson saw his first carries of the season totaling 21 yards in three carries.
I was very happy for DeMarcus, Rose said. He has worked hard in practice and that showed on the field.
• Freshman fullback Glenn Gronkowski caught his first touchdown pass in a K-State uniform when Jake Waters hit him for a 50-yard score in the second half.
• Kip Daily made two interceptions and returned one for the opening touchdown.
• Travis Britz blocked a field goal and knocked down a pass on a third-down conversion.
