Body found on Missouri River bank in Northland

Updated: 2013-09-12T22:39:25Z

Authorities are investigating a man’s body found along a Missouri River bank near Interstate 435 in Platte County.

A man fishing along the river spotted the body along the bank about 10:30 a.m. and notified authorities. Because of the rough terrain along the river bank, it authorities some time to reach the body, said Sgt. Jerin Almond with the Platte County Sheriff’s office.

Investigators had not determined the cause of death Friday or how the body ended up in the river. The sheriff’s office was continuing its investigation, Almond said.
