Have faith in the election process. Voters mostly sort things out and make the right choices. Mostly.

Thats what appears to have happened in New York with voters turning down former Rep. Anthony Weiner in his bid to become that citys next mayor. Weiner, who has stayed embroiled in sexting scandals and refused to drop out of the mayoral race, finished a distant fifth on Tuesday.
Bill de Blasio was the top vote-getter. It is still unclear whether there will be a runoff election.
Voters also said no to former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer in his hopes to become New York City comptroller. Spitzer got into hot water as a client of an escort service.
Where voters fell for some high-caliber hype was in Colorado, where they ousted John Morse, state senate president, over tough gun control legislation. Republican Bernie Herpin won as the successor to fill Morses spot.
Colorado state Sen. Angela Giron also was recalled because of her support for the gun control measure.
